Vika Mpisane is the Chief Executive Officer of the ZA Domain Name Authority (ZADNA), the country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) Manager for South Africa’s domain – ZA. He has experience in project management, change management, business development, general management, and policy development in areas such as trade and industry, economic policy, labour, education and ICT. His particular experience is in managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder, organizational and industry transformation projects in ICT, financial services and higher education sectors.
Between 2006 and 2009 he was a Director of AfTLD, and later served as its Chair/President between 2009 and 2012. He is also a councilor in the ICANN ccNSO Council since 2009. He is currently a member of the dotAfrica (.africa) Steering Committee comprised of the AUC and representatives from the African Internet community that is overseeing the dotAfrica project. He has also participated in the ZACR launch of the dotCapeTown, dotDurban and dotJoburg gTLDs (called ZAdotCities).
Vika is a former student activist and is a law graduate from the University of Natal (now University of KwaZulu-Natal). He is currently a member of ISOC-ZA and ISOC Gauteng Chapters.
