Dr. Ibrahim is a holder a Ph.D. in Electronics and Communications, Over 33 years, she has served in the academic research, electrical energy production & interconnection, energy strategies and policies, energy planning studies, renewable energy. In 28 April 2008 she was elected for the post of The Commissioner of Infrastructure & Energy, in the African Union Commission. In July 2012 she was reelected for the same post. Her portfolio covers multiple sectors, She is responsible to lead the Infrastructure and Energy Department to realize its mandate to enhance Regional and Continental efforts for accelerated integrated infrastructure development and effective sustainable development of energy resources.
