Since founding XConnect in 2005, Eli has led the strategic direction and vision for the company in establishing Next Generation Federation-based Interconnection services to meet the emerging demand for the cross-network availability of IP Communications. Eli has spearheaded growth of the company to 150+ service provider customers globally.
Eli co-founded and chairs the United Kingdom’s IP Communications industry body, the Internet Telephony Service Providers’ Association (ITSPA). ITSPA aims to promote competition and self-regulation in order to encourage the development of a flourishing and innovative next generation communications industry.
Prior to founding XConnect, Eli was Managing Director of Telco Global from its inception in 1996 to 2003. Eli was instrumental in driving the services provider’s rapid growth to $250m revenue, one million customers and its Nasdaq IPO.
Recognized for his technological vision and expertise in the telecommunications industry, Eli is a frequent and dynamic speaker at global conferences on issues surrounding including Next Generation Interconnection, VoIP peering, and regulation
Eli holds several VoIP directory and security patents and was named one of the “100 Most Influential People in the Telecoms Industry” by Global Telecoms Business in 2008. Eli holds a first-class honours degree in Computer Science from Imperial College London
