Mukom Akong Tamon - Head of Capacity Building and Community Development


Trained as an electrical engineer, Mukom’s career has focused on integrating multiple disciplines of knowledge in order to build effective and sustainable systems for getting great things done. As a management consultant/facilitator in Kaduna Business School, he trained more than 500 senior executives on Six Sigma, Project Management, Personal Productivity as well as how to leverage IT effectively for organisational effectiveness.

His career has taken him through Ahmadu Bello University – Zaria where he wrote the university’s Standards for Network Documentation, the ICT Forum/Nigerian Network Operators group where he initiated the IT Management track, the United Nations Development program where he wrote the IT strategy for the MVP in Pampaida.

He is currently Training Manager at AFRINIC where he has developed Africa’s best and most valuable IPv6 training program which has trained more than 900 network engineers in over 40 countries and is the author of the global IPv6 Forum Certified IPv6 Systems Administrator program.
