Richard completed his Bachelor of Engineering degree at the University of Natal in 1997, and then joined Telkom as a junior engineer under Telkom’s Center of Excellence program in 1998. He then continued studying at the University of Natal for the next 4 years towards his Doctorate in 3G Communications. In 2002 Richard relocated to Telkom’s Technology Strategy & Product Development department in Pretoria and was a design engineer in Telkom’s flagship VPN Supreme product. During that time Richard also developed Telkom’s technical product and service management strategies. In 2007 Richard joined Telkom’s Regulatory Affairs department as a Senior Specialist of technologies and NGN networks; and in February this year was promoted to his current position as Executive of Technology.
