Yolanda Mlonzi - Student, University of the Witwatersrand


Yolanda Mlonzi is a young and vibrant apprentice in the field of media research and analysis. She is a Bachelor of Arts graduate from the University of the Witwatersrand, where she majored in International Relations and Media Studies. In 2015, she was selected as the Africa Policy Google Fellow, where she was hosted at the Assocation for Progressive Communications (APC). It was through this fellowship that Yolanda developed a passion for Internet Governance, Human Rights, ICT Policy and the vision of a connected Africa! Subsequently, she worked for APC after her fellowship, where she assisted on the Africa Policy work. While at APC, Yolanda assisted with organising the African School on Internet Governance, research, report launches and events planning.

Currently, Yolanda is finishing off her honours degree in Media Studies at the University of Witwatersrand, with a special focus on African Media Systems.
