Thinus Kruger -

Thinus started his corporate career in the banking industry, covering most of the branch banking portfolios, and specializing in Foreign Exchange. This specialization led him to work with three of the major financial institutions in South Africa – First National Bank, Standard Bank and Nedcor – firstly in Foreign Exchange, and later within the Training and Development field. He also worked in the Business Process area of the Technology and Operations Division of Nedcor, documenting and analyzing business processes for their Global Business Centres.

Thinus left the banking industry for the IT sector, working for the JSE-listed Global Technology (Glotec), training end-users on the GLOBUS banking system. He has trained both locally and internationally, having conducted on-site training sessions in South Africa, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Ethiopia and Pakistan. During this time, he also had exposure to Skills Development, and assisted the HR director with the Workplace Skills Plans and Annual Training Reports for all of the eight companies within the Group.

Thinus’ skills in the ETDP field and exposure as Skills Development Facilitator led him to work with a market leader in the Healthcare and Life Assurance sector, Discovery, where he held the portfolios of Training Quality Assurance, Skills Development Facilitator and Training Manager. He was also trained up as an Internal Auditor for the Training and Development component of the organization.

Thinus joined Ownership Solutions thereafter, assisting with the setting up of the training component of this leading B-BBEE consultancy. He also became involved in Current State diagnostics, BEE Strategy consulting, and Pre-Audits. As the Training Executive, he facilitates most of the public training courses, as well as client-specific (in-house) training sessions. Thinus is also a qualified Assessor for the BEE Champions Course.
