Introduction to ICASA: Acts and Licences

Session description:

This is a two-part workshop, providing a broad overview of South Africa’s telecommunications regulatory framework, including the Electronic Communications Act, licences and ICASA’s role. William Stucke served as an ICASA Councillor from 2011 to 2014. In the first part of this workshop, he will be taking a look at the various Acts which shape the telecommunications industry, the structure and functioning of ICASA and the various licences that the regulator issues.
