Alan Levin - Chair - ISOC-ZA


Alan Levin has been helping organisations exploit opportunities made possible by technology for the past 20 years. He is a member of Future Perfect Corporation CC and has twenty years experience in telecommunications and the Internet; he was the founder of Intekom, which became the first Telkom ISP.

He has over 10 years of policy development experience and has served on the Board of Directors of various critical Internet infrastructure organisations including the Public Internet Registry (.org registry operator), AfriNIC (the African Regional Internet Registry), .za DNA (the South African domain name authority).

He was an advisor to the SITA board and is Chairman of the Internet Society of South Africa. Alan is widely experienced in the appropriate use and management of Open Source Software and applications and an advocate of open systems.

He has a BSc in Computer Science and Industrial Psychology, and an MBA from the University of Cape Town.
