André is a seasoned Telecommunications practitioner, having worked in the industry for more than 35 years. He has planned, built, operated and managed all tiers and segments of the network while working for leading service providers in South Africa and Mauritius. He has a broad understanding of the multi-faceted Information and Communications Technology service delivery chain and specialises in leveraging high capacity optical fibre based technologies for the delivery of high capacity carrier class networks and services.
Andre has a National Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Telecommunications) and an MBA (cum-laude) from the University of Natal.
André is Past President of the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) and is registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Technologist and is also a member of the Fiber To The Home Council Africa and chairman of the ftth Global Alliance Technical Committee and a member of the IEEE South Africa Section.
Currently he is Head of Special Projects at Link Africa (Pty) Ltd. Which is a managed metro dark fibre service provider in the South African telecommunications market.
