Chairperson of the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment of the South African ICT Sector Council. The ICT Council was established on the 23 September 2015 by Cabinet and held their inaugural council meeting on the 1 October 2015. By the end of the first quarter in office, the Council had already adopted its constitution, aligned the ICT Sector Code to the DTI Generic Codes, invited industry comments on the aligned ICT Codes, have published the ICT Sector Code for public comment and legislation. As a result, the B-BBEE ICT Sector Code of June 2012 was not repealed in spite of IT Web’s rating of F for Fail on the 1 May 2015. Also the Council has now produced the first ICT Monitoring Report that will be the foundation for an ICT Baseline Report that will analyze and provide input on areas that are presenting challenges towards successful transformation in the ICT Sector. The Council is taking the role of advisor to the ICT Industry Stakeholders and also assist the ICT Industry by supporting transformation initiatives that will benefit South Africa as a whole.
