Archive: Andrew Fray

Andrew has worked in the telecommunications field for over 20 years.  He started working with BT in 1987, where, in the infancy of the Internet he introduced a number of commercial services, including telebetting and teleshopping on PRESTEL, the UK’s dial-up view data service.  He also worked in the cable & satellite TV division for BT at a time when BT owned 50% of MTV Europe (which they sold off believing it had no future) and several regional cable TV operations.

Andrew subsequently built up his own telecommunications consultancy in Europe before becoming CEO of Swiftcall, the UK’s first low cost international phone company in 1995.  Swiftcall was sold to KDDI, Japan’s second largest telco, in 1998 and Andrew has remained with the KDDI Group since; firstly as a Director of KDDI Europe and KDDI Eastern Europe and then he transferred to Telehouse in early 2008.

His current role is to help Telehouse, which is possibly the world’s first carrier neutral collocation data centre, to become a global brand for high quality collocation and data centres.

In addition to his interest in the ICT field, Andrew is a keen sports enthusiast (rugby, cricket and football) and has an excessive three Masters Degrees in Geography (from Oxford University), in Business Administration from Westminster University and in Psychology from Middlesex University.
