Raj Wanniappa - Executive Deputy Chairperson, Wi-Fi Forum SA


Raj is the Executive Deputy Chairperson of the Wi-Fi Forum of South Africa, a voluntary forum of operators, service providers, technology providers and associated parties with a shared vision of accelerating the adoption of high-speed, reliable and cost-effective broadband services in South Africa and a shared focus on Wi-Fi technologies as a means for doing so. Raj has been an integral part of the Wi-Fi Forum SA since its formation in November 2013.

Raj is also the CEO of Future Horizon Technologies, which is based in Johannesburg and is engaged in Telecommunications, Big Data and Analytics and Cryptocurrency initiatives throughout Africa. Before this, he worked at the Dimension Data Middle East and Africa Group for 11 years, prior to which he was a senior manager at Accenture South Africa and an engineer at IBM in Toronto, Canada. Raj has a B.Sc. in Engineering from the University of Toronto, is a non-executive director of the Digital Finance Institute based in Vancouver. He is also the founder of a Cryptocurrency startup called SecureLend.
