Samantha Buchler - Manager, Deloitte (CIPM)

Samantha is an admitted attorney of the High Court of South Africa. She was awarded her LLB Degree from the University of Johannesburg.
Samantha is a Manager within Risk Advisory at Deloitte specialising in privacy and technology law. Samantha is a Certified Information Privacy Manager with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (“IAPP”)

Since joining Deloitte in 2013, Samantha has been involved as a commercial, regulatory compliance and privacy law advisor in projects both in the private and public sector.

Samantha’s work in the public and private sector has included managing various projects, privacy law whereby Samantha has conducted various gap analyses and has been involved in the implementation of large privacy projects within the financial services industry.

Samantha has managed various projects pertaining to the Protection of Personal Information Act. In terms of these projects, Samantha has attended to:

• gap analyses-to assess the level of compliance that an organisation’s operations have with POPI;
• hosting POPI workshops;
• providing recommendations on the manner in which organisations can adequately comply with the provisions of POPI; and
• Assisting with the implementation of POPI into various institutions.
