Cybersecurity Workshop (part 2)

Session description:

This is the second half of a two-part workshop on cybersecurity, convened by ISPA to review activities in the sector, and debate future collaboration between ISPA members, government and other industry bodies.

In the second part of the workshop, there are two short presentations, and then a discussion facilitated by the Chair of ISPA’s Security Working Group. The theme for this session is the Silence of the Compromised and looks at the challenges faced by ISPs and companies in sharing information on security threats.

  • Tim Wood – Executive Head: Information Systems & Technology: Vox Telecom will share some insights about how Vox manages security threats, including a recent real world example.
  • Jan Vermeulen – Technology Journalist, MyBroadband will talk about the role the media plays in reporting security threats, and how ISPs should handle queries from the press
  • André van der Walt – Head, Cyber Threat Intelligence: Internet Solutions will facilitate a discussion security issues faces by ISPs and a roadmap for future collaboration.
